Gifting Noonday jewelry to women affected by cancer

Because kindness and generosity are beautiful!

Dressed in Brave!

Kindness and generosity are beautiful, and Dressed in Brave’s mission is to spread light and kindness while empowering women diagnosed with cancer to take control of their look by gifting to them a statement piece of jewelry or accessory. Inspired by my own experience after losing my hair to chemotherapy while undergoing treatment for breast cancer, I found that while I didn’t have a choice of whether I lost my hair I did have a choice in how I would style and define my new look. A friend of mine gifted me a fabulous pair of Noonday earrings (the Crescent Moon earrings!), and my sense of confidence just shifted. The company Noonday employs artisans from 33 countries and has an incredible global impact on entire communities, so together we will impact women in our own neighborhoods and tribes while contributing to a global cause!

There are a few ways you can contribute to this cause:

    1. SHOP! Click on "shop" to visit the online Noonday Collection and proceeds of sales will contribute to the donation of earrings (or another piece of jewelry if the recipient chooses) to a deserving woman!

        • Host an online or in-person trunk show to increase your impact and earn product credit for either yourself or Dressed in Brave!

    2. DONATE! Suggested donation is around $50 for a recipient to choose a piece of jewelry. If there are remaining funds they will be added to the next donation! As a donor, you can either choose the recipient or have the next nominated recipient receive the jewelry. Email dressedinbrave@gmail.com for donation instructions if you do not have Paypal or to donate in honor of a loved one.

    3. NOMINATE! Sadly we all know at least one woman who has been diagnosed with cancer. Whether she is undergoing active treatment or not she is eligible to be a Dressed in Brave recipient! Nominate below so we can contact your friend!

Why the arrow? Arrows are moved back in order to powerfully propel forward. A cancer diagnosis changes everything, and as survivors we simply must move forward, despite any setbacks we face. The arrow is a symbol of the courage displayed by all who are affected by cancer- we look to the future with hope!

Love, Kate

Jenna

Here's just a part of BRAVE Jenna's story. She was Dressed in Brave's first recipient as a donation from Kate's friend Nancy and chose the gold limitless hoops (they also come in silver)- because every growing post-chemo pixie needs a good pair of hoops!

~In Dec 2017 I was diagnosed with Stage 3 invasive breast cancer. With 18 mos of treatments, including multiple chemotherapies, radiation, and surgery— I am thankful to say I beat the beast! My hair has always been something I was identified by. At the time of diagnosis, my hair was to my waist... it was luscious, beach wavy and had the perfect balayage highlights. Losing my hair was the most devastating part of cancer for me- that, besides the obvious fear of losing my life. With the loss of my hair came the loss of what I thought was my femininity & beauty. I learned overtime that beautiful scarfs made a huge difference in how I felt... those, along with, of course... JEWELRY! When Kate thoughtfully honored me by gifting a pair of jewelry from Dressed In Brave, I went right to my old go-to— hoops! The hoops Kate gifted me have ever since been my NEW go-to dress up jewelry. Every time I wear them, I am reminded I have not lost my femininity, that something as simple as some beautiful hoops can bring out the bling in my healing body. Thank you Kate for your beautiful mission & of course, for your inspiration!

Brittany

Brittany is a BRAVE stage 4 ovarian cancer slayer! She was nominated by @i.am.jackie and chose the Forestry Ear Climbers donated by proceeds from sales. This is what she said about being nominated and receiving them:

I absolutely loved receiving the earrings. Not just because they’re beautiful and from a company that clearly cares, but because it meant someone was thinking of me & wanting to brighten my day through such an unspeakably hard time — along with helping me feel beautiful and feminine while I struggle with how much cancer has changed my body and hair. I know earrings can’t heal me from cancer, but it sure does help knowing I have such incredible people in my cheering corner. 💕

Cathleen

Cathleen is BRAVE and fighting breast cancer. She was nominated by a friend Kelli who hosted a trunk show where Cathleen was honored. She's wearing the Dainty paper bead bracelet here made in Uganda. Cathleen's donation was from a private donation from Tamara.

After receiving the bracelet, Cathleen donated a bracelet to be gifted at a local cancer center- because kindness and generosity are beautiful and CONTAGIOUS!

Christine

BRAVE Christine- a breast cancer warrior and mom of the sweetest little girl. She chose the Noonday Droplet necklace ethically made from recycled artillery in Ethiopia and donated by Beth. Items that were designed to be used for violence are upcycled and transformed into items of beauty. This necklace can remind Christine that her artillery was always within her waiting for an opportunity to demonstrate her power and strength.

Sara

BRAVE recipient Sara wearing the Crescent moon earrings made in India. Sara and Kate have been friends for several years and were diagnosed with breast cancer around the same time. It's a sisterhood nobody wants, but you're thankful for if you ever need it. Love you Sara!

Annette

BRAVE Annette chose the On the Wing bracelet, handmade in Guatemala. Annette and her son were also given a gift card for The Queens Cups in Wocester, MA. We are praying for you Annette!

Pat

BRAVE Pat- cannot wait for Pat to wear her Crescent moon earrings! It was such an honor to gift her knowing that she will wear the earrings that started Dressed in Brave!

BRAVE

Dressed in BRAVE recipients and in honor of those we know battling or have battled cancer.

Jen

BRAVE Jen chose the carved teardrop earrings made from resin in India. She is a mom of two beautiful girls, a true warrior and breast cancer survivor.
